چکیده
This paper presents a coupled heat transfer model for coal-fired boilers that integrates boiler’s fire side computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solution with the steam cycle, and thus, can predict boiler temperatures subject to different design operation conditions. In this model, submodels describing gas-steam exchange each part of heating surfaces are integrated by exchanging iteratively. is self-consistent since it ensures always coincide temperature changes across surface. specifically designed provide efficient solutions engineering problems in which conditions major concerns. applied 320 MW subcritical evaluate impacts coal switching adjustment on distributions temperatures. The simulation results demonstrate effectively capture complex behavior between sides serve as an predictive tool problems.

Demonstration of Advanced Wall-fired Combustion Techniques for the Reduction of Nitrogen Oxide (no,) Emissions from Coal-fired Boilers
This demonstration project was intended to repower an existing plant facility, the Lakeside Station in Springfield, Illinois. A single Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) process train was planned to generate a net output of 60 megawatts. The plant consists of a combined cycle (gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator, steam turbine) power train located in the existing buildings and...
متن کاملCharacterization and Prediction of Oxy-combustion Impacts in Existing Coal-fired Boilers
Future use of coal for power generation in the US depends on technologies being made available to capture and store CO2 emissions from power plants. A key candidate CO2 capture technology is oxy-firing of coal. Application of oxy-firing to existing power plants presents unquantified challenges as the characteristics of oxy-firing compared to airfiring have not been fully determined. This presen...
متن کاملOptimisation of combustion efficiency and emissions in coal-fired boilers using Computational Fluid Dynamics
As more power generation facilities fall under increasingly strict environmental regulations, many difficult emissions control questions must be answered. In addition, the changes on the electricity market make efficient generation vital if a plant is to remain viable. Until recently an effective method for identifying optimal emissions control technologies has been elusive. Fortunately, emissi...

Mutagenicity in emissions from coal- and oil-fired boilers.
The mutagenicity of emission samples from three oil-fired and four coal-fired boilers have been compared by using the Salmonella/microsome assay. Very little or no mutagenic activity was observed in samples from five of these boilers. The sample from one oil-fired boiler showed mutagenic activity of about 500 revertants/MJ, and the sample from a coal-fired fluidized bed combustor had an activit...
